John F. Esdale of Dedham formerly of Dorchester, died March 16, 2005 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. He was 79. Mr. Esdale was born in Boston and was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Crowley) Esdale. He lived in Dedham for 43 years and worked as a State Inspector for the Food & Drug Administration. He was a WW II Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.
He was the beloved husband of Jennie F. (Testa) Esdale. Devoted father of John F. Esdale Jr. and his wife Mary of Warwick, RI, and Edward D. Esdale of Rome, ME. Brother of James Esdale of Pembroke, Dorothy Lanhan of Braintree, Gerald Esdale of Braintree, and Daniel Esdale of Hyde Park. Grandfather of Jennifer Halter, Stacey Ferreira, Jean Irving, and John, Stephanie and Daniel Esdale. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Saturday at 8 am. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 pm. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
