PERKINS, Daphne Estelle Thompson, 88, passed away September 10, 2011 at Summerfield Nursing Home. She was a charter member of Shively Christian Church, retired from Louisville Bedding as a seamstress, and was a veteran of the Australian Women’s Army during WWII.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Perkins; parents; brothers, Malcolm and Ronald Thompson; and son-in-law, Randall Blanton.
Survivors include her children, Kaye Blanton, Vikki Silberisen (James), John Shipley Perkins (Sheila), Deborah Veech (Ray), and Rebecca Clinard (Terry); 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and sisters, Alma Taylor and Valerie Cvitan.
Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday at Shively Christian Church, 1822 Kendall Lane with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be Monday noon-8pm at the funeral home and Tuesday from 10 until the service at Shively Christian Church.
