Obituary

George E. O’Brien,, Jr., of Winchester, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Sept. 10, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Carlotta A. (Krauth) O'Brien and the loving father of George E. O’Brien III of Watertown, Susan A. Minear and her husband Paul of Melrose, Alison P. Bayiates and her husband Arthur, and Sharon E. O’Brien and her husband Ed Karadizian, all of Winchester. George was also the dear brother of Ann E. O’Connor of Shrewsbury and the late John L. O’Brien and the devoted grandfather of Christopher and Lillian Bayiates, Lauren, Ella and Brien Karadizian. He is further survived by ten nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Wed., Sept. 14 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home on Tues. from 4-8PM. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. If desired, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Francis P. O’Connor ’53 Boston College Scholarship Fund, Stuart House, 885 Centre St., Newton, MA 02459. Late veteran U.S. Marine Corps.
