Obituary

Edith M. (McNulty) Kennedy, 92, of Dartmouth died peacefully on Friday September 9, 2011 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the wife of James F. Kennedy; they had been married for 62 years.

Born in Luton, England, the daughter of the late Christopher and Jane (Fallon) McNulty, she was raised in New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth after her marriage. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the Dartmouth Grange and the Greater Dartmouth Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing the piano at the Grange, at senior citizen functions, and at area nursing homes.

Survivors include her husband; six children, John T. Kennedy and his wife Karen of Wareham, Mary J. Kennedy, Anne M. Murphy and her husband Robert, and Charles F. Kennedy and his wife Adriana, all of New Bedford, Kathleen T. Saunders and her husband Richard, and Christopher M. Kennedy, all of Dartmouth; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew and three nieces.

She was the mother of the late James J. Kennedy and Joseph Patrick Kennedy and the sister of the late Ernest J. McNulty and Christopher McNulty.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
