Dorothy A. Risotti, 87

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Dorothy A. (Lane) Risotti, 87, of Mansfield, formerly of Foxboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo J. Risotti, Sr. to whom she was wed for over 60 years at the time of his death on June 2, 2002.
Born in Needham, MA on September 15, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George and Nellie (Mills) Lane.
Dot grew up in Needham and was educated in Needham public schools. A resident of Mansfield for the past 29 years, she had formerly made her home in Foxboro for 31 years.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Risotti had formerly worked at the Doolittle Home in Foxboro and at the former Van Dora Nursing Home, also in Foxboro.
An avid bingo player, Dot loved playing card games, taking trips to area casinos and collecting elephant knick knacks. Her family was the focal point of her life and she treasured spending time in the presence of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted sons; Arthur H. Risotti of Sarasota, Florida, Angelo J. Risotti, Jr. and his wife Terry of Bellingham, Paul D. Risotti and his wife Pamela of Attleboro and George E. Risotti and his wife Cathy of Mansfield. She was predeceased by her 7 siblings and is also survived by her cherished 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday September 12th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday September 11th from 4-7 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Risotti’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
