WORCESTER-Helen M. (Sullivan) Westerman died Friday, February 20th at U Mass-Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John L. and Catherine J. (Barrett) Sullivan. She will be missed by her daughter, Maureen A. Rauscher of Worcester, and her three sons: Timothy R. Westerman of Holden, Ronald W. Westerman, with whom she lived, of Worcester, and James W. Westerman of Marlboro. She leaves five grandchildren: Hilarie C. Woodsmall of Rutland, Timothy A. and Daniel R. Westerman of Holden, and Shayla M. and Alyssa M. Westerman of West Boylston; and a great-grandson, Jason Woodsmall of Rutland. She leaves six siblings: Ruth E. Federico of West Peabody; Rita A. Robertson of Worcester; Marion S. Martin of Sutton; M. Theresa Barrett of Westboro; John L. Sullivan of Spencer; and Francis X. Sullivan of Leicester. A brother, James C. Sullivan, died in 1997. She also leaves nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in Worcester. She worked for many years in the business office of the former Denholm & McKay Company in Worcester. Among family members and friends, Helen was esteemed for her generosity, thoughtfulness and kind gestures.
The funeral is Tuesday, February 24 from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a 10 AM Mass at St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, February 23, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
