Grovetown, GA – Mr. Howell L. Wilson, 62, husband of Mrs. Linda Woodward Wilson, entered into rest on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Reverend David Dillard officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Additional survivors include three sons, Clay L. Wilson (Dana), Dennis Crowe(Deanna), Kevin Crowe (Kim) all of Evans, one daughter, Dena C. Heard (Stephen) of Martinez, GA; one brother, Donald Russell Wilson (Diane) of Jefferson, GA; one sister, Evelyn O’ Kelley (Richard) of Jefferson, GA; Mother-in-law & Father-in-law, Doris and Dock Woodard of Augusta, GA; nine grandchildren, Zach Wilson, Bethany Wilson, Ryan Gram, Haley Crowe, Madalyn Crowe, Rachel Crowe, Mallory Crowe, Skyler Heard, Stephen Heard & Samantha Heard; two sister in laws, Pam Curnutt (Jimmy) and Terri Hamrick (Jim); one brother in law, Garland Woodward (Emily) of Snellville, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his first wife and Clay’s mother the late Mrs. Joan H. Wilson.
Mr. Wilson attended Warren Baptist Church. He was in business with his son Clay as a Master Carpenter. Howell was a wonderful and loving husband, father, Papa, brother, who had a heart of gold. He never met a stranger and he always brought so much love and joy to his family and everyone who knew him. His wonderful smiles and hugs will be missed by all who loved him.
Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Curnutt, Jim Hamrick, Tom Healan, Dennis Crowe, Kevin Crowe, Stephen Heard and Tré Reinhardt. Honorary pallbearers will be the Members of the Big Buck Hunting Club.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 5, 2011 at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
