Betty L. (Macey) Freitas, 80 years old, of West Bridgewater, died unexpectedly Thursday September 1, 2011 at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center. She was the loving wife of William B. Freitas for 62 years. Betty was born and raised in Abington, a daughter of the late Viola (May) Macey and since 1957 she had been a resident of West Bridgewater.
At the age of 70 Betty retired from Alden Products and previously had worked at Dartmouth Shoe in Brockton for many years. She enjoyed working around her yard and tending her flowers. She also loved animals and her pets. Betty was devoted to her home and family and cherished her time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her two daughters Joanne Burbank and her husband James of Attleboro and Kristine Roberts and her husband Allen of West Bridgewater; five grandchildren Lisa VerGow and her husband Zachary, Trisha Cucinotta and her husband Joshua, James J. Burbank and his wife Kristen, Jackson Roberts and Jefferson Roberts; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean Williams.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 4-7pm. Funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Wednesday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
