James Emmett Terry, 55, of Tifton died Friday, September 2, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2011, in Tift Memorial Gardens. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 4, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Terry was born on August 4, 1956 in Albany and was the son of C. E. Terry and June Valeda Caltrider, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda K. Terry Underwood. He graduated from Tift County High School and attended ABAC. He was a bookkeeper and loved his family and the girls and friends at Bowen & Phillips. He loved ceramics, gardening and visiting Jimmy Carter in Plains.
Mr. Terry is survived by his step-mother, Mrs. C. E. Terry of Tifton; his good friend, Billy Wood of Tifton; a niece, Christina Kay Rayburn and husband, T. J. Gilliard; a grand-niece, Megan Alison Rayburn; a nephew, Timothy Paul Underwood and wife Lois; a grand-nephew, Caleb Elijah Underwood; and his beloved Boston terriers.
