FRANCES (ANDERSON) ENDICOTT, 98, of Duxbury, formerly of Hingham, died at her home on Aug. 29, 2011 after a brief illness.
She was born in Hingham on Dec. 17, 1912, the daughter of the late Edwin H. and Ruth (Coburn) Anderson. She was the mother of Judith Williams of Linden, TX and Douglas Endicott of Penobscot, ME. Also survived by her two sisters, Persis Winship-Carter of Duxbury and Virginia Anderson Pratt of Kingston, RI., two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews and her adopted family; Austin and Su Lee of Lexington, MA and their children; Eugene of Houston, TX and Sam of Albuquerque, NM. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Eugene F. Endicott and daughter, Ruth Parrott Anderson.
Fran was a graduate of William and Mary as well as Simmons College. An avid bridge player until shortly before her death, she was also a world traveler, having visited 37 countries including China, Japan, Taiwan and Russia.
A gathering of friends will be held at The Village at Duxbury on Saturday, Sept. 17th at 2:30 PM. Interment will be private at the Hingham Center Cemetery.
