Obituary

Taunton – Easterbrooks, Allan F., 70 of Taunton, MA died after a short illness at Morton Hospital on Sunday, August 28, 2011. He was the loving husband of Joan I. (Bennett) Easterbrooks.

Born in Taunton, MA on September 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Richard and Charlotte (Atherton) Easterbrooks. Mr. Easterbrooks was raised in Taunton and remained a resident of the community for most of his life with the exception of the years spent in Winthrop, ME and Attleboro, MA. Mr. Esterbrooks was educated in Taunton Public Schools and later in life, continued his education at Brown University in Providence, RI where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Easterbrooks was employed at Texas Instruments in North Attleboro for many years.

While a resident of Taunton, Mr. Easterbrooks was a communicant of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton, MA.

He treasured the time spent with family, adopted families and friends creating lifelong cherished memories for him and others.

Mr. Easterbrooks was a lover of Trains, Country Music, and drinking coffee at Dunkin Donuts with friends. He was an avid storyteller and the stories he told about his friends and family will live on for generations through his grandchildren.

He leaves two sons: Richard A. Easterbrooks of Taunton, Robert B. Easterbrooks and his wife, Linda (Fitzpatrick) Easterbrooks, of Winthrop, ME; three grandchildren: Pauline of Middleboro, MA and Teresa and Phillip both of Winthrop, ME; two unofficial adopted sons: David Jordan of East Bridgewater and Michael Masse of Bradenton, FL and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, cherished neighbors and dear friends. He was a father figure to many.

He was the father of the late David Easterbrooks who died in June 1974 and Karen Easterbrooks, who died in July 1967. Mr. Easterbrooks was predeceased by two sisters Mary Ellen (Easterbrooks) Howarth who died in September 1991, Cynthia (Easterbrooks) Haskins who died in January 2011 and a brother Leonard Easterbrooks who died in August 2008.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday 9am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton. Following a burial will be at the Thomas Cemetery in Swansea, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
