SPENCER; Olive M. (Stevens) Anderson, 95, a long time resident of Spencer, died August 28, at the Meadows Rehab and Nursing Center in Rochdale where she had been living.
Her husband of 50 years Helmer G. Anderson died in 1993.
She leaves her son, David and his wife Patricia of Spencer and a daughter, Jean Curry and her husband John of St. Cloud, Florida. She also leaves two grandsons; Scott Anderson and his wife Debra of Tolland, CT, Todd Anderson and his wife Emily of Ashland, MA, a granddaughter, Paula Gibb-Severin and her husband Sam of Worcester, six great-granddaughters; Mackenzie, Elisabeth, Lillian, Kathryn Olivia, Jocelyn, Alysha and two great-great granddaughters, Isabella and Alannah and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her sister Doris Wloch and her three brothers; Wesley, Oscar and Billings Stevens.
She was born in Canada and was the daughter of Ambrose & Mildred (Fitzsimonds) Stevens. She graduated from David Prouty High School where she was on the track team. She worked as a nurse’s aid at Harrington Memorial Hospital for many years. In 1974 she and Helmer moved to St. Cloud, Florida where Olive lived until March of this year.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Spencer Grange. She lived a full and happy life and had many close friends in Florida. She enjoyed her family, loved sausage gravy and biscuits, “Judge Judy”, and shuffle board with her club in Florida.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September, 1 at 10 A.M. in the First Congregational Church of Spencer, 205 Main St. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer.
