CHRISTUS "CHRIS" G. ANASTOS, age 85, a Hingham resident since 1940, died on Wednesday, Feb. 18th at the Harbor House Nursing Center in Hingham. Mr. Anastos was born and raised in Hull. He attended Hingham schools, graduating from Hingham High School and was also a graduate of Miami High School in Miami, Florida. He was the owner of Hingham Hardware & Marine for many years, and then in the late 1950's he established C.G. Anastos & Sons, a family painting and interior decorating company that is well known on the South Shore. Mr. Anastos was a former member of the Scituate Yacht Club.He leaves his wife, Dorothy L. (Goodwin) Anastos of Hingham and was the father of Betty Ann Galinaro of Quincy, Theodore W. Anastos of Hull and Richard G. Anastos of Hingham. Brother of Achilles Anastos and Demetra Connor both of Hingham and the late Elizabeth Cobb, the late Juliette Romano and the late Ernest Anastos. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday from 4-8 PM.The funeral services and interment are to be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
