John C Zinna, Sr of Wellesley died on August 28, 2011, at Epoch Assisted Living Of Weston. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years Kay Irene (O’Neill) Zinna.
A Wellesley resident for 40 years, he was born in Leominster, the son of the late Nicolas Zinna, and Mary (Lombardi) Zinna. Mr. Zinna served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Boston College, receiving his masters in engineering from Boston University. Mr. Zinna worked for Boston Edison, and then went on to work for the Department Of Treasury for the United States Government as a Federal Agent, until his retirement in October of 2006. He was a real estate developer in his free time, and owned several commercial & residential properties in western Massachusetts.
John is survived by his 3 children, John Jr. of Fitchburg, Jodie Zinna of Wellesley, and Nicole (Zinna) Burke & her husband Edward of Wellesley, and 3 grandchildren, Kayla, Nicolas & Brianna Burke all of Wellesley. Mr. Zinna is also survived by his devoted sister Theresa (Zinna) Losey of Leominster.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St, (at Natick Common) Natick, Ma, on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM followed by an interment with military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1 from 4-7 PM.
