Virginia Colleen Rains, age 87, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Southern Senior Living. Mrs. Rains was born in Douglas, GA on May 15, 1924 to the late Grover Cleveland and Lonnie Lee Tyson Worth. She was the widow of Francis Asbury Rains. She was the former secretary for the First United Methodist Church, a member of Shell Vickers Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Circle #4 of United Methodist Church and a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club. Funeral services for Mrs. Rains will be on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Craig Hutto officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery. Survivors include: sons: Larry Richard Rains, Memphis, TN, Ronald Andrew Rains, Douglas, GA; brother: G. C. Worth, Guntersville, AL; sister: Jean W. Stone, Thomasville, GA' grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
