Edward J. Kalife, 80, of New Bedford died Thursday February 19, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Coury) Kalife, he had lived in New Bedford for all of his life.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Purgatory Church.
Mr. Kalife was formerly employed as an automobile salesman at Tichon Lincoln-Mercury, and had also been the manager of Jake's Diner in Fairhaven.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Louis J. Kalife of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Nicholas J. Kalife, Alexander J. Kalife and John J. Kalife.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday February 23, 2004 at 8 AM.Divine Liturgy at Our Lady of Purgatory Church at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday February 22, 2004 from 3-6 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
