Steven Lee Jensen, 65, of Tampa, FL. died on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury, MA due to complications from lung cancer.
He was born on January 6, 1946 in Peoria, IL. to Willard and Juliette Jensen.
After serving in the Navy during Vietnam, Steve attended New Mexico State University, Hope College, and the University of South Florida where he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. He pursued a career is sales first working at Moore Business Forms (Illinois) and Better Business Forms (Florida).
He enjoyed playing golf and, early in his life, considered pursuing it professionally. He was a member at the Lakeland Golf & Country Club where he played every Sunday. He loved scuba diving and fishing, and was an avid sports fan, particularly football, baseball and hockey. Amongst his proudest moments are the hole-in-one he hit on the golf course, and the foul ball he caught at a White Sox game hit by Harold Baines.
Steve is survived by siblings Gary Jensen, Mark Jensen, and Wendy Stankevich; borther-in-law James Stankevich; sister-in-law Tanya Saunders; daughters Erica Jensen, Kiersten Jensen, Jessica Jensen and Erin Fleisher; sons-in-law Kirk McGee, Samuel Puhr, and Matthew Fleisher; and grandson Satchel Puhr. He is predeceased by his parents.
He will be greatly missed.
