Paxton, MA - Helen E. (Balcezak) Wierzbicki, age 90, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Her beloved husband of 63 years, John Wierzbicki, died in 2004. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Joseph Scheinfeldt of Paxton, MA; four grandchildren, John Santini and his wife Laurel of Hanson, MA; Marc Santini of Randolph, MA; Tom Scheinfeldt and his wife Anne of West Hartford, CT; and Erik Scheinfeldt and his wife Kristy of Holden, MA; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Kaitlyn Scheinfeldt; and many beloved nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Santini and by brothers Zygmunt, Edward, Edmund, and Robert Balcezak.
Helen was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of Anthony and Mary (Roznowska) Balcezak. She lived most of her life in East Hartford. While living in Paxton, she enjoyed volunteering and spending time at the Paxton Senior Center where she had many dear friends.
Helen's family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Christopher Heights and the staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home for their compassionate care.
The funeral will be held Saturday, August 27, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, with a 10:00 a.m. Mass in St. Columba Parish, 18 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Paxton Council on Aging, 17 West Street, Paxton, MA 01612 or Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
