SALEM: Johanna E. (Kremer) Noorduin, 82, of 44 Butler Street, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Arie L. Noorduin, who died in November of 2008.
Born in Indonesia in 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alexander A. and Jeanne (Kwadjo) Kremer. Johanna emigrated with her husband and first son, Dutch, to Holland in 1951 and then to the United States in 1960.
She was a talented artist, a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Known as “Oma” to all her friends, family and neighbors, she will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her dear friend, Coos Riems, a son, Hans “John” Noorduin and his wife, Valerie and their daughter, Katie, of Peabody, a daughter, Rita Noorduin and her husband, Ron Genest of Danvers, and their daughter, Sarena Frasca, and her husband Peter and their daughter, Ariel Frasca of Barrington, NH, and a son, Dutch Norden and his wife Terri and their children, Matthew, Jamie and Tawny Norden and grandson, Dodge Roberts of Danvers.
A private family service will be held in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly on Thursday at noon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the American Veterans’ Fund.
