TAUNTON – Mary (Braga) Ferreira, wife of the late Joseph S. Ferreira, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Aug. 22, 2011.
She was 93.
Born, raised and educated in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary J. (Brite) Braga.
Mrs. Ferreira worked as a seamstress for over twenty-five years, and was later employed as a kitchen worker for Taunton State Hospital.
She retired twenty-eight years ago.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed knitting, and spent many hours fashioning baby blankets for needy families.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth J. Ferreira and his wife Dorothy of Taunton and Hilton Head, SC, and Paul V. Ferreira and his wife Holly of Wellesley; three grandchildren, Brent Ferreira of Long Beach, CA, Devin Ferreira, currently residing in Thailand, and Jessica Ferreira of Wellesley; a brother, John Braga of Taunton; three sisters, Anna Farias, Alveda Crovello and Rose Braga, all of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Anthony, Joseph and Alice Braga.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Aug. 26th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 25th from 5 to 8 p.m.
