Albert W. Verity, a 37 year resident of Melrose and formerly of Somerville, died on Tuesday morning, August 23, 2011 at his home in Melrose after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.
Al was born in Somerville on September 28, 1937 to the late Ralph and Mabel (Kinsley) Verity. He grew up in Somerville where he attended Somerville Public Schools and graduated from Somerville High School. He enlisted into the United States AirForce on May 13, 1955 and served his country proudly and honorably at the beginning of the Vietnam Conflict. He was discharged on February 12, 1959 with the rank of Airman, Second Class. Al owned and operated his own real estate company along with his wife Mary for many years.
Al is the beloved husband of Mary J. (McBride) Verity. He is the devoted father of Joseph Verity and his wife Kristin (Scott) Verity of Melrose, James Verity and his wife Judith (Brock) Verity of Medford and Albert W. Verity Jr. of Melrose. He is the proud Papa to Wesley, Benjamin, Amanda and Gianna. He is the dear brother of Barbara Jean Stoddard of Palmer, Ralph W. Verity Jr. of Hyde Park, Earl L. Verity and his wife Barbara of Seabrook, New Hampshire, Ruth Eileen Matckie and her husband Richard of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Lynda Susan Verity of Malden. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

Albert's Funeral Services and burial were held privately.
