Eva (Viveiros) Oliveira, age 94, of Centerville, MA and formerly of Swansea, passed away Aug. 22, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late John Oliveira and the daughter of the late Jose & Maria (Viveiros) Viveiros. Prior to retiring in 1977, Eva worked as a Seamstress in the Garment Manufacturing Industry, and was a member of the Royal Travelers. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, was an avid Knitter of Afghans, loved the outdoors and gardening in her yard. Eva was a loving wife, mother, & grandmother.
Eva was the mother of the late Patricia Macallister and the late Jack Oliveira. She is survived by her son in law: Philip Macallister of Centerville, MA; her daughter in law: Christine Oliveira of Somerset; her brother: Ernest J. Viveiros of No. Swansea; her sister: Hilda Franco of Swansea; 4 grandchildren: Kimberly Ellenbolt (husband Eric), Brian Macallister (wife Marybeth), Elizabeth Oliveira & Matthew Oliveira; 3 great grandchildren: Hannah, Noah, & Luke Macallister; and many nieces & nephews. Eva was also the sister of the late Joseph, James, Henry, & Peter Viveiros, Margaret Robinson, Virginia Soares, Mary Costa, Lucy Cote, Hortense Medeiros, & Celia Rapoza.
Her funeral service will take place in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea. Visitation will be held on Thursday Morning from 9:00-11:00 A.M.
