Wilfred “Lloyd” Young, 87, of Enigma died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, in Enigma Cemetery. Rev. Pete Jones will officiate with burial to follow. Bruce Young, Brian Young, Craig Young, Wayne Hedin, Harrison Young and Hunter Young will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Young was born on May 22, 1924 in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada and was the son of Perry Rufus Young and Hannah Hough Young, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He was a retired auto mechanic and he was a member of Enigma Baptist Church. He served in World War II in the Royal Canadian Army and was also a former Mayor of Enigma.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clara Smith Young of Enigma; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Denise Young of Wellington, Florida, Brian and Lisa Young of Gainesville and Craig and Susan Young of Cumming; one brother, Malcolm Young of Ontario, Canada; one sister, Belva Maier of New Jersey; and seven grandchildren, Brianna Young, Hannah Young, Nicholas Young, Kaylyn Young, Hunter Young, Harrison Young, Ashley Abbey and her husband, Jason.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Hospice of Tiftarea, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
