Obituary

Mr. William Anderson, 91, a lifelong resident of Andover, passed away at his home on Friday morning, August 19, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna M. (Laurenza) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson served proudly in the Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific. When he returned home, Mr. Anderson worked as a Range Officer at Campus Curtis, until his retirement.
William Anderson was a kind and selfless soul, with an uncanny sense of humor. He brought great joy to all who surrounded him. He will be missed immensley and his memory will live on in the examples he set in life.
He is survived by his loving daughter; Debra LT Jones and her husband Scott of Bradford, one son William D. Anderson, Jr. of Burlington, Vermont, four grandchildren; James A. Tropeano whom was also William’s caretaker, Christopher D. and his wife Amanda R. Tropeano of Island Pond, Vermont and Jason and Aimee Anderson, both of Vermont, great-grandchildren; Jacob M., Caleb A., Morgan and Olivia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Monday, August 22, 2011, at 11:30 AM, followed a funeral mass celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, at 1 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. Donation’s in William’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to Dr. Cory, Katie Mitchell, Robin and the rest of the Commonwealth Hematolgy and Oncology for their constant care and support.
