Obituary

Dorothy V. Olivier, 94, died at her home on August 17, 2011 after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on October 16, 1916 to the late George and Emelia (Martel) Sansoucie.
Mrs. Olivier lived most of her life in Manchester and attended local schools. She worked in the shoe industry and retired from Arcadian Heel Factory in 1978.
In 1936 she married Roger W. Olivier and together they raised 3 children. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and was loved dearly by those who knew her.
She was an avid reader and gardener, and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. She was a caregiver to many, whenever the need arose, and graciously opened her home and her heart to those in need. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with her family.
Members of her family include her three children: Marge (Olivier) Charron, Roger Olivier and his wife Kathy, and Judy (Olivier) Hannemann and her husband Joe; 13 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren; sisters Corinne Sechrest of Lady Lake, FL and Cecelia VanAlstyne of Summerfield, FL; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mrs. Olivier was pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, Roger W. Olivier, as well as 10 brothers and sisters.


A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, August 22, 2011 at St. Pius X Church, Candia Road, Manchester.
Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
