Joseph C. Farara of Sharon formerly of Canton passed away at his home on August 17th. He was 88. Born in South Boston. He graduated from Dorchester High School. Joe attended Louisiana State and Boston University. Joe served as a Sergeant in the US Army with the 708th Air Material Squadron during WWII. Sgt. Farara received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. Mr. Farara worked as the Executive Wool Salesman for the Top Company in Boston. Joe was a member of the Blue Hill Lodge and the Shriners. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Mulcahy). Loving father of Joseph M. & his wife Nancy of VT. & Lisa J. Lyons & her husband George of Foxboro. Grandfather of James & Richard Lyons both of Foxboro & Keegan Farara of VT. Visiting hours in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 2-5 pm. Funeral service at Trinity Episcopal Church 1 Blue Hill River Rd Canton Monday morning at 10.
