Obituary

Lorraine Y. Gill, 92, of Manchester, died August 17, 2011, at St Teresa Manor after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester, February 10, 1919 to Joseph and Emily (Boily) Simard and was a lifelong resident of this city. She graduated from Central High School in 1937.

Lorraine worked as a receptionist for L’Association Canado Americaine for 40 years.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and had been a member of the Sodality of St. Anne.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Henry A. Gill Sr. in 1992. In addition she was predeceased by four sisters, Nellie Gladu, Jeanne Lavoie, Simone Dery, and Charlotte Brunelle; two brothers, Monsignor Gilles Simard and Ludger Simard.

Family members include two sons, Henry A. Gill Jr. of Portmouth, NH and Jean R. Gill and his wife, Linda, of Somersworth, NH; two daughters, Colette C. Gill of Munsonville, NH and Sylvia G. LaVoie and her husband, Patrick, of Stratham, NH; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.



A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
