Robert Jackson Jones, 89, of 218 Deerwood Drive, Blairs, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. He was born in Danville on February 12, 1922. He has worked as an electrician for Wise-Hundley, Pittsburgh Plate Glass and after retiring from Economy Glass had
worked for C&N Glass in Chatham. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army, serving in the 246 Coast Artillery.
He attended Blairs Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
Mr. Jones was predeceased in death by his wife, Eva Mitchell Jones, his parents, and a son Robert Jones, Jr.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Lynn Jones, of Richmond, and three grandchildren, Robby Jones and Heather Jones of Richmond, and Lindsey Mentzer of Alexandria, Va.
Graveside services for Mr. Jones will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Burial Park with
the Rev. Albert Moser officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence from 6:00 to 8:00 on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
