Obituary

Carlos B. Jamssens, 61 years, of Brockton, died August 15, 2011 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband for 37 years of Manuela R. (Rosa) Jamssens. Born and raised in Cape Verde, son of the late Jesuino B. and Flora (Andrade) Jamssens. He served in the military in Angola and immigrated to the United States in 1987 settling in Brockton. Mr. Jamssens worked at Abbott Action Company in Stoughton for many years. He enjoyed watching soccer, but what gave him the most enjoyment in life was spending time with his family. Mr. Jamssens was very active in The Feast of St. John the Battiste.

He is survived by his children Joao B., Carlos B. Jr. and Aderito S. Jamssens all of Brockton, Elvira J. Caldeira of Taunton, Wilson M. and William C. Jamssens both of Brockton, six grandchildren, Josiana, Leticia, Sheila and Jovanea Jamssens, Alisha J. and Alyssa J. Caldeira, his siblings Madueno and Juselinda Jamssens Maria Delgado, Maria Teixeira, Ramiro Garcia, Francisco Aderito Andrade, Isidora Goncalves, Jose Andrade and Isa Jamssens.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 5-9pm. The Funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
