Obituary

RAINWATER, WARREN G., 90, of Louisville went home Monday, August 15, 2011.

He was born in Vernon, AL, April 7, 1921. He was a member of the Prairie Village Church of Christ and preached there for 37 years. In 2007 he retired as a Gospel preacher of almost 60 years. In 1986 he also retired from the Kentucky College of Barbering where he taught for many years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. He was assigned to the 99th Infantry Division where he was awarded three Bronze Stars for valor along with numerous other combat citations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Ann Rainwater; brothers, Leonard, Dempsey and Rex Rainwater.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Christine Rainwater; son, Charles W. Rainwater; daughter, Sharron K. Dillon (Don); granddaughters, Teressa M. Taylor (Louie); and Vanessa R. Scott (Randy); great-granddaughters, Jessica and Alyssa Scott; brother, Ray Rainwater (Gaila); brother-in-law, Jerry Brooks (Gleda); sisters-in-law, Anna Banks Rainwater and Leota Dickerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many, many, many friends and brethren.

We will all miss this wonderful man.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday, noon-service time at 2 p.m.
