Aileen B. (Smith) Antonangeli, 87, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton and Falmouth, passed away peacefully, August 12, 2011 at her home. She was the beloved wife of John J. Antonangeli, Sr. Aileen was born July 2, 1924 in Boston to Walter and Teresa (Morgan) Smith. She married John J. Antonangeli November 29, 1942 in Rockland at Holy Family Church. She lived in Brockton for 20 years, moved to Cape Cod for 23 years and had resided in East Bridgewater for the last three years.
Aileen enjoyed gardening, Bingo, playing cards and most of all being with her family, and had also been a member of the Hibernians Irish Club in Rockland. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her four children Marie McGinn and her husband Ronald of Brockton, John J. Antonangeli, Jr. and his wife Leslie of Manomet Beach, Teresa Mann of East Bridgewater and Dominic Antonangeli of East Bridgewater; nine grandchildren Carol, Ronald Jr., Colleen, Paul, Evan, Jade, Dominic Jr., Francesca and Isabella; three great grandchildren Jessica, Ryan and Cameron; a brother Alwyn Smith of Rockland and her longtime friend Pat.
Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 3-6pm with a Prayer service at 5:30pm.
