Obituary

Roger P. Tripp, 54, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at his sister’s home in Marshfield on Sunday, August 14 after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1975. Mr. Tripp was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and a Veteran of the Persian Gulf War. He served in the Marine Corps for over 15 years before retiring in 1997. He then was a military consultant for the State Department and the Department of Defense for 13 years before retiring in 2011.
Mr. Tripp is survived by his sons, James R. Tripp and Nathan P. Tripp both of Brockton, as well as his siblings, Maureen Hunt of W. Bridgewater, Roberta Pearl of Carver, Jane Grover of Marshfield, Carol Ehrhardt of Holbrook and Christopher Tripp of Stoughton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, August 19 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
