LOWELL—Helen T. (Duggan) Kirane, 83 years old, died Sunday evening at her home. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Kirane, Sr., who died on June 27, 1991.
She was born in Lowell, on January 14, 1921, a daughter of the late Francis P. and Helen A. (Lynch) Duggan, and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grammar School and Lowell High School, as a member of the National Honor Society.
Mrs. Kirane had been employed as an office clerk in the Lowell area for many years. She was a lifelong parishioner of the Sacred Heart Parish, and held membership in the Holy Rosary Sodality of that parish as well as the Sacred Heart Retirees.
Surviving her are two daughters: Judith H. Kirane, of Lowell, with whom she resided; Joanne T. Post. of Hampstead, NH; two sons and daughters-in-law: Joseph W. and Kathy (Fagan) Kirane; and Kevin F. and Mary (Mastas) Kirane, all of Lowell; four grandchildren: Joseph W. Kirane, III, of Oldsmar, FL; Kristine M. Kirane, of Groton; Sara and Danny Kirane, of Lowell; two great-grandchildren: Dylen J. Kirane, of Oldsmar, FL; and Timothy J. Peters, of Groton; a dear friend: Thomas N. Fagan, of Lowell; brother and sister-in-law: Joseph T. and Alice (Mahoney) Duggan, of Indian River Shores, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Josephine Duggan, David f. Crowley, John W. Taylor, Patricia Picanso, Florence Taylor, Arthur and Beatrice Donovan, and Robert and Beverly Taylor; also several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
She was the sister of the late Francis P. Duggan, Mary R. Fells and Anne A. Smith-Crowley, and sister-in-law of the late William H. Fells, Clifford F. Smith, Lucille Taylor, Mary Gesnaldo, C. Rita Hebert, and Albert, Frederick and Edward Taylor.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Thursday morning at 9:30 AM at the SACRED HEART CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
