Obituary

Gilbert L. Watson, 95, a Franklin resident since 1945, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick. He was the husband of Helen (Reddy) Watson who died in 1993.

Born in Boston on June 27, 1916, he was the son of the late Lee M. and Margaret F. (Foss) Watson.

Mr. Watson was a Merchant Marine veteran of WWII.

Before his retirement, he was a tool and die maker at several area companies through the years.

Mr. Watson was an avid reader and car enthusiast and also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his son Stanley A. Watson and his wife Patricia of Franklin, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was the father of the late Lillian A. Watson who died in 1975.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, August 18 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m.
