Obituary

Kelly Lynn Fryer passed away at her home in Louisville on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. She was born in Wilmington, DE on November 27, 1967, graduated from Ballard High School in 1984 and graduated with honors (receiving all A’s her last six semesters) in Psychology from Penn State. She was a sought after employee in the computer editing industry. As a gourmet chef she authored/edited a cookbook to benefit breast cancer research “Cooking for the Cure”. One of Kelly’s greatest joys was being the Mother of her daughter Darcy.

TTP, a rare blood disorder overwhelmed her kidneys some ten years ago. She had been on dialysis ever since and had struggled with numerous infections and complications that severely weakened her body. After an infection brought her to the brink of death some four months ago, she rallied enough to vacation with the family at a beach resort in Fenwick Island, DE this summer. Her sudden death was unexpected since her health seemed to be improving.

Survivors include: husband Tom Fryer; ten-year-old daughter Darcy Fryer; parents Joyce and David Blair; brother David Blair, (wife Rebecca, children Sophie and Davey); step daughter Julie Bailey, (husband Brian, grand children Cameron, Libby and Reese); brother-in-law Alex Andriuk, (wife Kija, children Jonathan and William); sister-in-law Terry Newlin (husband Gary, children Tracy and Joel).

In preparation for the services, the Scripture Garden at the church will be lit with candles Friday evening August 19th from 10PM till 1AM…all are welcome for personal meditation and prayer. A Memorial Service will be held the following morning, Saturday August 20th at the Forest Hills Community of Christ Church, 2401 Merriwood Dr., Louisville, KY 40299, at 10AM. A visitation luncheon will follow. Photo opportunities in the Sanctuary and Scripture Garden will follow. The Scripture Garden was built in response to the untimely death of her sister, Dr. C. Darcy Blair, some fourteen years ago. Visitors are always welcome in the garden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to an existing educational fund for Darcy Fryer. Gifts will be accepted at the service or can be sent to: Dr. David E. Blair, 5102 Underhill Ct., Louisville, KY 40207. Checks should be made payable to Darcy Fryer. Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown in charge of arrangements. On Line Condolences www.OwenFuneralHome.com.
