WORCESTER-Koco Xhacka, 84, of 1 Longfellow Road died Monday, February 16th at home after an illness. His wife Katherine (Joseph) Xhacka died in 2001. He leaves 2 sons, Gjergj and his wife Miranda Xhacka of Detroit, MI and Angelo and his wife Natasha Xhacka of Worcester, a daughter, Mariana wife of Aleksander Dheri of Worcester, a brother in law, John Joseph Athanasi of Boston, 6 grandchildren, Olta and Andi Xhacka, Lira and Gensi Dheri, Endri and Alba Xhacka.
He was born in Albania the son of Vangjel and Kostandina Xhacka and lived there for most of his life before moving to Worcester in 1999. He was a WWII veteran serving in Albania. Mr. Xhacka was a construction company manager in Albania for many years.
The funeral is Saturday, February 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Burial is in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, February 20th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the funeral home with a Triasagion service at 6:00 PM.
