Wooden, Doris Mae, 79, of Valley Station, returned to her heavenly father on August 14, 2011.
Among those that precede her in death include her parents, Katherine Mae Bowers, Fred and Augusta Michal; sister, Shirley Ann Landers; and brother, Edward Lee Michal, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harvey Wooden; children, Patricia Alvey (Dayrl), Judith Anderson, David Brightwell (Doreen), David Wooden, Barry Wooden, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Doris was lovingly known as the “Cake Lady” for her delicious and beautiful Birthday and Wedding cakes. She was active in her local community, clubs and was the former secretary of the Wednesday Night Rebelettes Bowling League and Saturday Night Mixed League, for numerous years. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends throughout the community.
Funeral service will be 12pm Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 10-9 and Wednesday 9am until the service at noon.
