Odell (Neel) Jones, 92, of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully August 9 at Forge Hill Senior Living in Franklin where she resided. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Alfred Neel and Olivia (Marchbanks) Neel of Waco, Texas. Before coming to Franklin last fall to be near her daughter, she resided in Saulsbury, TN, for more than 35 years.
She was born in Chalk Bluffs, Texas, on February 22, 1919. For most of her life, she was a wife and mother. She owned a dress shop for several years in Waco, Texas but her pride and joy was her summer gardens. She canned and pickled and made jellies.
In her death, she proved to be a real romantic having married the love of her life, Harold E. Jones 69 years ago to the day. Harold died in Saulsbury, TN in September of 2008.
Miss Odell enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She had a generous giving spirit, which she gave freely to those who came to know her.
She is survived by her two daughters Shirley Ann Clark and her husband Jerry Clark of Roseville,Ca. Connie Dunn and her wife Joyce Adams of Franklin.
She is also survived by her sister Emily Jane Sherrill of Waco, TX and was the sister of the late Evelyn Neel Sparks and Mary Frances Gross.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stacie Sturm and her husband Mark of Roseville,CA., Brian Clark of Pleasanton,CA., Michelle Katherine Whitaker of Kansas, city MO., Sam Dunn of Denton, TX., and Erin Jennifer Dunn of Austin TX., and her great-grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler Sturm, Skyler Dunn and Destiny Jewel Peterson.
Services and interment will b private.
