COCHITUATE VILLAGE: Grace E. (McFadden) Rockett, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 9, 2011 following a brief illness.
She was born in Chelsea on September 25, 1925 the daughter of the late James McFadden and Ruth V. (Costello) McFadden.
Grace is survived by her husband of 57 years Maurice G. Rockett of Cochituate. Mother of Francis Rockett of Hudson, N. H.; Kenneth Rockett and his wife Susan of Holliston and Neal Rockett of Berkeley, CA. Beloved grandmother of Sean, Libby, Shauna and Cameron. Sister-in-law of Edward Furlong of Revere. Also survived by several nieces and nephews including her special friendships with Donna Burke and Debby Furlong. Sister of the late Dorothy Furlong.
Grace spent her formative years in the Boston area and was a proud graduate of Girls High in Boston. At the time of her marriage to Maurice she was a secretary with Austin-Hastings in Cambridge. She has been a resident of Cochituate for over 45 years and has been an active and devout communicant at Saint Zepherins Parish in Cochituate. After raising her family she became the secretary for Attorney Isabella Jancourtz of Weston. She and her husband Maurice often hosted international exchange students and administrators at their home. She enjoyed traveling especially to the Southwest and Switzerland. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30) Cochituate Village.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:00 am at Saint Zepherins Parish, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Cochituate Village.
Interment will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
