FAY John Joseph of Jamaica Plain, August 7, 2010. Age 89. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Stevens). Devoted father of John Joseph Fay Jr. “Jack “ of Jamaica Plain and Dr. Maureen Fay McCarthy and her husband William F. of Salem, Virginia. Grandfather of Justin Lawrence McCarthy and Declan Patrick McCarthy. Brother of Eleanor M. Fay of Dedham. Son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Sullivan) Fay. Brother of the late Mary Smith, Margaret M. McCarthy, Lawrence C., Anne Hotz, Leo, Dorothy Kelley and Daniel. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and his canine companion Sandy. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Thursday, August 11th. at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. U.S. Army Veteran, WW II. Late employee for the City of Boston. John was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and involved in many organizations including the Boston Aid for the Blind. His family is appreciative of all those who were involved in his care, particularly the Brockton V.A. Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 97 South St. Boston, Ma. 02130.
