Obituary

TAUNTON – Constance “Cris” (Gouveia) Rapoza, the wife of Daniel J. Rapoza of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Aug. 4, 2011.
She was 86.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Patricia (Neto) Gouveia.
Mrs. Rapoza was a lifelong Taunton resident.
During her school years, she worked in her father’s store, the former Gouveia’s Market.
She was later employed as a payroll clerk for the former Eureka Manufacturing Company, where she worked for thirty-five years.
She retired in 1987.
She was a member of the former South End Portuguese Club and member of the club’s duckpin bowling team.
Mrs. Rapoza was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, and a member of the Portuguese Continental Union.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Daniel J. Rapoza of Taunton; a daughter, Patricia A. Medas of Taunton; a brother, Dr. David Gouveia of Falmouth; three grandchildren, Michelle Medas and Kevin Medas, Jr., both of Taunton, and Lori Williams of Lakeville; three great grandchildren, Tyara Souza, Kevin “KC” Medas and Camerin Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Virginia Silva.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Aug. 10th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of The Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 9th from 4 to 8 p.m.
