George Jouvin, age 69, of Brockton, died August 3, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband for 42 years of Rosa (Ruiz) Jouvin. Born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, he was the son of Elena (Zavala) Jouvin and the late Benito Jouvin. George immigrated to the United States in 1965 and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 30 years. For 42 years he had been employed in the candy industry working for Nabisco, Warner Lambert and Tootsie Roll, retiring in 2008. George was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed time spent with his family, watching soccer games, dancing and playing cards. He was a longtime communicant of St. Edith Stein Parish.
George is also survived by his children Annabell Rojas and her husband Joe of Abington and George Jouvin of Brockton and his fiancé Allison D’Eramo of Abington; two granddaughters Gabriella and Mia Rojas; two sisters Lourdes Ramirez of FL and Sylvia Rodriguez of NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 5-8pm. The Funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 10am.
