Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Gwendolyn H. “Gwen” (Kelloway) Wilbur, 99, died Monday, August 01, 2011 in the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late R. Wesley Wilbur who died in 2003.
Born in Wakefield on February 25, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Bessie (Squires) Kelloway. She had attended Simmons College and was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing.
She had resided in Melrose for many years before moving to Gloucester in1976, where she had summered since 1950. Gwen was employed as a registered nurse for the American Red Cross for many years.
She is survived by her son, Ralph A. Wilbur and his companion, Sue Lovett both of Gloucester; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and John Cattaneo of Fort Pierce, FL; four grandchildren, Thomas and his wife, Jamie Calloway of Dracut, Lisa and her husband, Clint Nash of Lyman, ME, Brian and his wife, Diane Schlueter of San Francisco, CA and Kenneth Myhra of San Diego, CA; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Jordan Nash; a sister, Fredericka Greene of Ocala, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Alice Tait and Barbara Huntoon and a brother, Herbert Kelloway.
Her memorial service will be held on Thursday in the Trinity Congregational Church, Middle Street, Gloucester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Pathways for Children, 29 Emerson Ave., Gloucester, MA 01930.
