John J. O’Connell, 72, passed away following a courageous fight with cancer on July 30, 2011 in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.
Born in Boston on February 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Geoffrey and Elizabeth (Donovan) O’Connell. He was raised and educated in Hamilton and was a resident of Danvers since 1951.
He is survived by a brother Maurice O’Connell of Danvers, a sister Margaret Cummings of Danvers, nieces, JoAnn Cummings, Mary Margaret Kopaskie and Kathleen Johnson and a nephew Michael Cummings.
Relatives and friends will gather at 8:15AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers with the Funeral Mass being celebrated at 9AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. There are no visiting hours and burial will be private.
