Obituary

Catherine G. (Storme) Washburn, 69, of Medway, formerly of Norfolk and Norwood, died August 1 in her home. She was the wife of the late Alan W. Washburn who died in 2004.
Born in Canton, November 17, 1941, the daughter of the late James and Edith (Moore) Storme, Mrs. Washburn had lived in Norwood for many years before moving to Norfolk where she lived for 6 years prior to moving to Medway eight years ago.
Mrs. Washburn was a graduate of Canton High School and the Henry O. Peabody School in Norwood.
She was a talented seamstress and dressmaker. She was known for her amazing wedding dresses.
Mrs. Washburn was a member of and former President of the Attleboro Emblem Club. She had also been a member of the Red Hat Society and had been an active member of the Medway Senior Center and enjoyed going to the Fatima Shrine in Holliston.
Catherine enjoyed all kinds of sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her children, Walter Washburn of Mansfield, Catherine Baronie of Medway and Patricia Crosby of Plainville.
She was the mother of the late James Washburn.
She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ryan of Pennsylvania and Edith Barstow of Missouri.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen, Robert, Jacqueline, Samantha, Donald and Jamie and her great-grandchildren, Michael and Eve.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 5 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:00 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Westwood at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in New Westwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
