BEVERLY: Virginia “Ginny” (McCarthy) Noyes, 80, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Clifford W. Noyes, Jr.
Born in Beverly on June 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth E. (Thomas) McCarthy. Raised and educated in Beverly, she was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1949.
Ginny was employed as a bookkeeper for the Morgan-McPherson Insurance Agency in Beverly for many years. She was a board member of the Girdler House in Beverly for several years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and was a member of the Lakeview Ladies Golf team and an active member of the Beverly YMCA.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey W. Noyes and a daughter, Christine S. Noyes both of Beverly, a sister, Ruth (McCarthy) Dower of Bradenton, FL, a stepdaughter, Dawn Noyes Clay of Newburyport and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Rosedale Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea.
