Greg was born on October 30, 1928 in Worcester, son of the late Krikor and Annie (Berberian) Arakelian. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. From an early age, growing up working on a farm, Greg developed a love for the fruit and vegetable business. This passion was later demonstrated in the creation of his company, Greg’s Packing Co. of Worcester, which he operated for over fifty years most recently with his daughter Tammi until the time of his injury. He was also the Produce Buyer for the Big D Supermarket chain before they closed.

He was an extremely hardworking man all his life. He had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was a devoted father and “Papa.” His favorite pastime was taking many trips to Atlantic City with his friends. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to give thanks to the UMASS Memorial Critical Care Unit, the South Two Nursing and PCA Staff and especially to Dr. Jennifer Reidy. All of their compassion, kindness and support were much appreciated.
