RUELLE, Alwin J.- Of Malden, July 31st. Devoted husband of Dorothy (Gately). Beloved father of Paula Ruelle of Ipswich, Donna Ruelle-Fitzpatrick and her husband Bernie of Malden, Cathy Ruelle-Dalquist and her husband Brad of Longmeadow, Alwin J. Ruelle, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Westford, Mark J. Ruelle and his wife Bettina of Westford. Dear brother of Anita Mancini of VA and the late Kathleen Murphy, Paul and Roland Ruelle. Cherished grandfather of Christian, Tor-Bjorn, Jill, Signe, Kellen, Brittni, Brannon, Kiera, Matthieu, Collette and Renee. Also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kierce, Aidan, Liv and Rhynn as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Wednesday, August 3rd at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden.
A lifelong Malden resident, Alwin, at 84 years of age, passed away at home early Sunday morning. A longtime sports photographer, whose photos appeared in numerous publications, the New England Sports Museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Basketball Hall of Fame to which he generously donated his works. Alwin had the distinction of being the Official Photographer for the Boston Bruins for over 35 years and was also the photographer for the State of Massachusetts. A member of the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II he was attached to the 306th Bomb Group as well as the 368th Bombardment Squadron.
