Obituary

NEW BEDFORD — Frank Martin Teixeira Jr., died on Tuesday, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 75 years old, and was the son of Frank Martin Teixeira Sr. and Mary (Folger) Teixeira.

Frank graduated New Bedford High School then served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Later, he shared ownership of Martin's Barbershop on Court Street with his father. After that, he worked for UPS until his retirement in 1997.

He leaves behind a wonderful family who miss him dearly and look forward to being reunited with him in heaven.

Remaining family members include, Eileen (Bromley) Teixeira, his wife of 53 years, as well as six children, Frank Teixeira III and his wife, Derreth of Pennsylvania, Cheryl Rios and her husband, Raymond of New Bedford, Michael Teixeira and his wife, Joani of Richland, Washington, Kevin Teixeira and his wife, Elaine of New Bedford, Jeffrey Teixeira and his wife, Tracy of New Bedford, and Stephen Teixeira of Washington. Frank will also be missed by his 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Frank was known for his sense of humor, and for being a loyal Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics fan. But most of all he will be remembered for how much he loved and supported his family.

Visitation will take place on Friday from 5-8 PM in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St. New Bedford. A funeral service will held Saturday, 9 AM at Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford. His burial will follow at Acushnet Cemetery
