Charles Michael Williams, 50, of Tifton died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at Damascus United Methodist Church in Worth County. Rev. Ben Reeves and Rev. Lawrence Wiggins will officiate with burial to follow in Damascus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Worth County. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Damascus United Methodist Church in Worth County.
Mr. Williams was born on January 17, 1961 in Winter Haven, Florida and was the son of Charles and Serena Williams of Tennessee and Shirley Canady Mincey and Brian Mincey of Tifton. He was employed with Georgia Vegetable Company in Tifton and Flowers Brothers in Ty Ty. He was preceded in death by one brother.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Olivia Ruiz Williams of Tifton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Wayne Lewis of Alabama and Karen and Jim Stevens of Omega; an aunt, Glenda Pingle of Winter Haven, Florida; and several cousins, nieces and nephews in Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
